The people who follow X factor and all the other mind numbing drivel on TV these days, seem to me to be molded to a certain template. Just like the fast food industry works its customers, the X factor does the same with theirs. From cradle to the grave, customers for life. Lining the pockets of a grabby little freak!
I couldn't stop laughing when I heard RATM had the number 1 spot. I hope this is the beginning of the end!
:D
My girlfriends daughter just can't understand why I don't like X factor, so does my girlfriend too to be honest, brainwashed! Its so far reaching these days too. I did explain a bit without trying too sound cynical but got shot down as bah humbug!
I dont get them either. I know exactly what you mean. *Some* people (really rather a lot actually) lap up this plastic soulless lifeless cr@p. It mystifies me as to why. X-Factor is a precision-calculated marketing device designed to create disposable one-hit-wonders with zero long term appeal so the whole insidious thing can start again with another bunch of pollished turds next year, thus maximising profitability and long term tenability.
Its great business, if you look at it in a machiavellian sort of way.
People that take it in in the way those imbeciles on the Joe whatsisname forum have are either *ahem* mentally challenged or remarkably niave.
Shobet described it quite well, imo.
If you've ever watched Dollhouse - they sort of remind me of the Dolls. Non-people, innocent and helpless, waiting to be imprinted with devotion for one of a number of meticulously crafted human products otherwise known as 'x-factor contestants'. This time next year they'll all have forgetten this joe fella and will have latched onto the next thing.
EDIT: IMO, of course. Wouldnt want to be negative.
