Just watched Ironman 2 and enjoyed it. I agree with Andrew W that it's not as good as the first. I hope you all hung around until the very end of the credits to see the bit at the end. It took ages and my bum is now all Thor...

I'm watching Snatch again, forgot how funny it is

Might go and see Iron Man 2 or Kick Ass in the week.

Kick Ass is recommended. I liked it a lot.

I've been watching some Seth Rogen stuff this weekend. Knocked Up, Zack and Miri and Superbad. Not bad really, out of the three superbad was my favourite.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Just back from Iron Man 2, I didn't think it was as good as the first movie, but a redheaded scarlett johansson made it worth my £7.50. I'd do some very naughty things to that lady.

Exactly my thoughts. The skin tight jumpsuit thing was also pleasing.

The Hangover - Better than I though it would be, only a few laugh-out-loud moments but amusing most of the way though. Mike Tyson is shoehorned into the script (for some reason). Rubbish, predictable ending.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - I would describe myself as a Terry Gilliam fan but this was totally over-my-head, a bit too high concept for a mainstream film. Visually I though it was great and has the usual Gilliam fantasy, dream-like images. There is an 'overall' plot (the 'deal' with the Devil) but the film ignores it for large periods. Worth a watch but I felt the director was being very indulgent.

... and more Akira Kurosawa

Tengoku to jigoku (High and Low) - Amazing film, feels very modern, could be remade with almost no changes. An exec falls out with the board after refusing to lower the quality of their product to increase profit... then his son is kidnapped (or is he). Police drama in a similar mould to Nora inu (Stray Dog).

Warui yatsu hodo yoku nemuru (The Bad Sleep Well) - Hitchc--kesque thriller about political corruption, excellent film with something that's rare in modern films, an interesting ending.

Observe and Report. What a load of f*cking sh!t. A complete waste of 100 minutes and a part of my life that I will never get back. Ever.

It's another Seth Rogen vehicle. I liked the first few of his I saw but quickly realised he is pretty one dimensional. Even more so than Adam Sandler.

I find Rogen's films a lot funnier than Sandler's, but he is starting to lose his charm.

In fact I sold my DVD of Knocked Up today because (a) it was still sealed and (b) I couldn't remember anything about it or why I'd bought it.

yeah, there's a certain inept charm with adam sandler films. it's like the main aim is to be funny, not arty. it doesn't always succeed, but it doesn't piss you off as much when it doesn't, as it's not pretending to be high art. Not that seth rogen films are high art either, but you know what i mean.

Has anybody else seen "The Human Centipede" ?
 It's quite an experience....
It wasn't a mistake, it was chromaticism, I swear.

Yes, I saw it last year!  Half the time I was thinking "why would anyone make this and why am I watching it?", but despite that I really enjoyed the performance of the mad doctor guy.

We also had a Q&A with the director, who seemed quite a likeable chap.

Just watched my very first Blu-ray!  :D

The Black Shield Of Falworth with Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh.

It was my absolute favourite film when I was a little kid, and I've seen it loads of times but never in glorious Cinemascope.  Totally fantastic!  :)

Ah your high-def cherry has been popped.  My first time was with "2001 A Space Odyssey".  Not as good as watching it on 70mm at the flicks but really pretty good.  I love high-def!
